Abakaliki Football Club has officially announced a one-month break for its players and officials following the conclusion of the 2025 league season and the President Federation Cup.
This was contained in a post made at the club’s official Facebook page The announcement was made during the club’s end-of-season meeting held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, in Abakaliki, and was presided over by the Club Chairman, Senator Obinna Ogba.

Speaking at the gathering, Senator Ogba expressed heartfelt gratitude to God for His grace, love, and protection throughout the season. He commended the team’s resilience, discipline, and commitment, praising both players and officials for their performance during the campaign.
“As we proceed on this break, I pray for God’s grace, presence, favor, and safety upon every member of this team,” he said. “I also encourage our players to remain physically fit during the period to prepare adequately for the upcoming season.”
According to the club’s schedule, the break takes effect from Monday, July 7, 2025, and will run through Thursday, August 7, 2025. Players and officials are expected to resume training on Monday, August 11, 2025, ahead of preparations for the 2025/2026 league season.
