Who is Imran Khan?
Imran Khan is a Pakistan former prime Minister who served between the year 2018 to 2022. He was born in 5th Oct 1952 in Lahore. He also had a very successful career as a cricketer. He is married and his marriage is blessed with two sons.
Early Life and Education
He attended Aitchison College and Cathedral school in Lahore before proceeding to Royal Grammar School, Worcester in England. Imran bagged a degree in philosophy from Keble College, Oxford. He ventured into cricketing career where he played for the Pakistan national team. He led the Pakistan national team to victory in the year 1992.
Political Career
Khan founded the PTI political party in the year 1996. He was elected into the national Assembly in the year 2002 and later on a prime Minister in the year 2018.
Why is he trending?
Khan has gotten the social media awash with some groups organizing peaceful protest as a solidarity.
The former minister was handed a 10 year prison term for violating the Official Secret Act. He was accused of discussing a classified document in public and as well for withholding an official document after leaving office.
It is an issue of great concern among his supporters and other well meaning Pakistan citizens. So many believed that his imprisonment was a political persecution and hence, have continued to rally around him.
