U.S. President Donald J. Trump has once again taken to social media platform X to criticize prominent media outlets, accusing them of attempting to discredit the U.S. military and misrepresent recent accomplishments.
In a post that quickly gained traction online, Trump alleged that The New York Times and CNN collaborated in what he described as another attempt to “cheat” and demean the U.S. military specifically the actions of B-2 bomber pilots. He referred to both media outlets as “Failing New York Times” and “Fake News CNN,” continuing his long-standing rhetoric against mainstream journalism.
“We just caught the Failing New York Times, working with Fake News CNN, cheating again! They tried to demean the great work our B-2 pilots did, and they were wrong in doing so. These reporters are just BAD AND SICK PEOPLE,” Trump posted on Tuesday.
He added that the media should be proud of the success achieved instead of, in his words, “trying to always make our Country look bad.”
The post concluded with a characteristic Trumpism: “TOTAL OBLITERATION!”
Reactions have been mixed, with Trump supporters applauding his defense of the military and critics accusing him of inflaming divisions and attacking press freedom.
As of press time, neither The New York Times nor CNN has responded publicly to the post.
