A Swedish player, Alexander Isak who is currently a striker at the magpie side has been awarded the English Premier League (EPL) player of the month for December, 2024.
Isak, who is currently 25 years old secured this award after a very impressive runs in the month of December including 8 goals and 2 assists to clinch the top scorer position.
Among some of his goals includes a hat-trick against Ipswich. Isak also scored against five other EPL teams including Liverpool FC, Brentford, Leicester FC, Aston Villa and Manchester United.
The Newcastle player became the fourth Swedish player to win this title in 30 years.
This title was held by four other EPL players; Erling Haaland (Man City) for the month of August, Cole Palmer (Chelsea) for September, Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest) for October and Mohammed Salah of Liverpool who clinched the turkey in the month of November.
