Job Details
- Position: Medical Laboratory Scientist
- Employment Type: Full-time, Onsite (Permanent)
- Working Hours: 40 hours per week
- Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers State

- Experience Required: Minimum of 3 years
- Salary: ₦100,000 – ₦200,000 per month (based on experience and skills)
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out accurate and timely laboratory sample processing and result validation.
- Work collaboratively with team members while supervising junior staff when required.
- Ensure strict adherence to good laboratory practices and regulatory standards.
- Monitor test turnaround times and ensure deadlines are consistently met.
- Maintain high-quality standards for all laboratory test results.
- Review internal and external quality control reports to improve laboratory performance.
- Participate in developing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Manage laboratory resources efficiently, including reagents, kits, and consumables.
- Prepare routine laboratory performance reports to support decision-making.
- Ensure laboratory equipment is functional and maintained according to schedules.

Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) with a minimum GPA of 3.5.
- Valid practising licence from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
- A Master’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science will be an added advantage.
- At least 3 years of continuous experience across multiple laboratory disciplines, including:
- Blood Transfusion
- Medical Microbiology
- Haematology
- Chemical Pathology
- Molecular Biology
- Hands-on experience with various laboratory and point-of-care analysers.
- Knowledge of quality management systems; certification is an advantage.
- Experience working in an ISO-accredited or similarly certified healthcare facility is desirable.
