The Flag Officer Commanding Naval Training Command (FOC NAVTRAC), Rear Admiral Robert Obande Obeya, has continued his familiarization tour on Wednesday, 16 July 2025, with a series of strategic visits to major security agencies in Rivers State.


The tour included engagements with the Eastern Zonal Office of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), the Rivers State Command Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force, and the Nigeria Immigration Service, Rivers State Command.
At NIMASA’s Eastern Zonal Office, Rear Admiral Obeya was warmly received by the Zonal Coordinator, Mr. Ibrahim Umar Sidi, who commended the Nigerian Navy (NN) for its steadfast commitment to maritime security and its pivotal role in supporting the agency’s operations.
At the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, the FOC was received by the Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, who congratulated him on his appointment. The Commissioner emphasized the importance of sustained synergy between both institutions and described the Navy as a key ally in advancing national security.
The final leg of the tour took Rear Admiral Obeya to the Nigeria Immigration Service, Rivers State Command, where he was welcomed by the Comptroller, CIS Abdulmajeed Ibrahim Yabagi. The Comptroller acknowledged the Navy’s vital contributions to border management and migration control, noting the importance of continued inter-agency cooperation.
During all visits, Rear Admiral Obeya expressed deep appreciation for the warm reception accorded him and reiterated his commitment to strengthening collaboration, promoting joint training initiatives, and enhancing operational partnerships. He also highlighted the availability of specialized naval training schools that could serve as valuable resources for personnel from sister agencies.
