
The Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has congratulated Professor Uduma Orji Uduma on his appointment as the Vice Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) by the Governing Council of the institution.
In a statement released from the Ebonyi State Government House and signed by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Monday Uzor, Governor Nwifuru described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of Professor Uduma’s outstanding academic pedigree, leadership qualities, and immense contributions to philosophical scholarship and national development.
“Professor Uduma has, over the years, brought honour and pride to Ebonyi State and Nigeria through his scholarship, intellectual rigour, and mentorship of younger academics,” the Governor stated.
Governor Nwifuru further expressed confidence that the newly appointed Vice Chancellor would bring his wealth of experience, vision, and integrity to bear in advancing the mandate of the National Open University of Nigeria particularly in promoting academic excellence and expanding access to quality education across the country.
On behalf of the Government and people of Ebonyi State, Governor Nwifuru wished Professor Uduma a successful tenure, praying for God’s continued wisdom, strength, and grace upon him as he assumes his new role.
Professor Uduma Orji Uduma, a renowned scholar and philosopher, hails from Edda Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
