Ebonyi State marked a historic milestone today as the Chuba Okadigbo International Airport successfully recorded its first commercial flight landing, signaling a new era in the state’s transportation and economic development.
The flight, operated by United Nigeria Airlines, departed Abuja en route to Lagos with a scheduled stop in Ebonyi. The landmark development was confirmed by Mr. Boniface Nwankwo, Special Assistant to the Governor on Documentation, who provided real-time updates via his verified Facebook page.

Earlier in the day, Mr. Nwankwo posted that Abuja-bound passengers heading to Ebonyi had already boarded the flight. Approximately three hours later, he announced the aircraft had landed safely at the new airport.
The flight comes just a day after Mr. Nwankwo took to social media to encourage travelers not to miss the historic opportunity. His promotional post read:

The achievement has drawn widespread celebration across social media, with netizens hailing the development as a “promise kept” by the state government under the leadership of Governor Francis Nwifuru.
