…Deploys 4,000 CNG-Powered Tankers to Strengthen Distribution Network
In a bold move to reshape Nigeria’s fuel supply landscape, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced that it will begin the nationwide distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and diesel effective August 15, 2025.
The initiative will see the refinery deliver fuel to marketers, petrol dealers, manufacturers, telecommunications firms, aviation operators, and other bulk users across the country, with free logistics support aimed at easing transportation bottlenecks and boosting product availability.

To support this ambitious rollout, the refinery has acquired 4,000 brand-new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers, further backed by over 100 CNG tankers and several daughter booster stations to guarantee efficient distribution.
This strategic intervention, according to the refinery, is aligned with its broader goals of reducing logistics costs, improving energy efficiency, supporting sustainability, and enhancing economic development nationwide.
“All petrol stations and bulk buyers of PMS and diesel sourcing directly from Dangote Petroleum Refinery will benefit from this nationwide logistics network,” a statement from the company said. “This will reduce fuel costs, lower inflation, cut production expenses for manufacturers, and help revitalise dormant petrol stations.”
As part of the scheme, the refinery is also offering a credit facility for buyers purchasing a minimum of 500,000 litres. Eligible buyers will be able to access an additional 500,000 litres on credit for two weeks, provided a valid bank guarantee is submitted.
The company emphasized that the initiative reflects its commitment to inclusive growth, economic stability, and energy accessibility across urban and rural communities. It is expected to drive job creation, stimulate SMEs, increase government revenue, and build investor confidence in the downstream sector.
The project aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, and the company has expressed gratitude to the Federal Government for its continued support, particularly through the Naira-for-Crude initiative which has helped stabilise domestic fuel supply amid global market volatility.
“Dangote Petroleum Refinery remains a proudly Nigerian entity with global standards, committed to national progress and the prosperity of all Nigerians,” the company affirmed.
Stakeholder Registration Open
Registration for marketers, petrol dealers, and other bulk users is currently open and will run for 60 days from June 16 to August 15, 2025. The Know Your Customer (KYC) process is mandatory for all participants.
