The Nigerian Navy College of Accounts and Finance (NNCAF) held a prestigious graduation ceremony on Friday, 13th June 2025, for graduands of four professional courses at its campus in Owerrinta, Abia State. The event marked the successful completion of training for participants of the Officers’ Basic Course Batch 38, Petty Officer Qualifying Course Batch 46, Leading Hand Qualifying Course Batch 46, and Basic Qualifying Course Batch 54.
The ceremony which attracted top military and security officials, underscoring its significance in the professional development of naval personnel. The Flag Officer Commanding Naval Training Command (FOC NAVTRAC), Rear Admiral IM Albara, served as the Special Guest of Honour, while the Chief of Accounts and Budget (CAB), Rear Admiral OO Olukoya, was represented by the Acting Director of Naval Accounts, Captain MC Okogba, as the Guest of Honour.
Other dignitaries present included the Commander of Naval Base Oguta, Commodore MA Alhassan, and the State Director of the Department of State Services (DSS) for Abia State, Mr. Ibrahim Abdullahi. The event also witnessed the attendance of representatives from military formations and sister security agencies across Abia and Imo States.
In his welcome address, the Commandant of the College, Commodore BU Quadri, expressed appreciation for the presence of distinguished guests and the continued support of the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, which, he noted, has enabled the College to deliver on its mandate. He also commended the guidance of FOC NAVTRAC in ensuring that the College’s training curriculum remains responsive to the evolving operational requirements of the Nigerian Navy.
Commodore Quadri urged the graduating students to uphold the integrity of the Accounts and Budget Branch, stressing the need for discipline, professionalism, and accountability in their future assignments.
Delivering his remarks, the CAB, represented by Captain Okogba, congratulated the graduands on the successful completion of their courses. He lauded their dedication and hard work, emphasizing the Chief of the Naval Staff’s ongoing commitment to repositioning the Accounts and Budget Branch for greater efficiency and effectiveness in support of naval operations.
In his address, the Special Guest of Honour, Rear Admiral Albara, advised the graduands to apply the knowledge acquired during their training in their respective postings. He urged them to maintain professionalism and provide sound financial counsel in line with the highest standards expected of naval personnel. He also encouraged them to be exemplary representatives of the Nigerian Navy College of Accounts and Finance.
The graduation ceremony concluded with photo sessions, presentation of certificates, and a parade by the graduands.
