President Bola Ahmed Tinubu granted his approval for the new Terms and Conditions of Service for soldiers/ratings/Airmen and commissioned officers in the Nigerian Army, Navy and Air Force.
The new Harmonized Terms and Conditions of Service (HTACOS) for commissioned and non-commissioned officers was approved during a national security Council meeting at Abuja, Nigerian Capital, presided by the President.

This was disclosed in an X post made by the Presidency’s official X handle @NGRPresident. The move is one of the President’s commitments towards boosting the morals of officers and men of the Nigerian military.
The new HTACOS became necessary following long standing issues bordering on conditions of services and soldier’s welfares which needs to be addressed so as to ensure improved welfare of soldiers/ratings/Airmen in the service and ensure operational readiness of the troops.
