Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has restated the commitment of his administration in restoring peace at Ivo Local Government Area of the state. This information was disclosed by a post made by the Governor on his verified Facebook page on Tuesday 17th December, 2024

Recall that there has been lingering land dispute between the Umobor, Akaeze and Ogwor, Ishiagu communities in Ivo Local Government Area of the state.
The Governor in his speech stated that he has personally engaged stakeholders from both communities in a dialogue which took place in Government House, Abakaliki.
In his effort to restore peace and bring to an end the crisis, the disputed land has been declared a neutral zone between the two villages pending the peaceful resolution of the crisis.
He also gave the two communities a period of two weeks to work out modalities in resolving the issues, if this fails, the government may be forced to take over the disputed land.
